Modern Marketing Requires More Than Just Content Creation.
Sara’s Story
When major international brands first began exploring influencer marketing in the early 2010’s, I was fortunate enough to be perfectly positioned for it. I had a marketing education background, an active community website, and growing audiences across digital channels.
Through Toronto-area PR networks I connected with on Twitter, I entered partnerships, did brand ambassador work and led viral influencer marketing campaigns.
Small and medium businesses started contacting me, asking me to teach them the strategies I was using, and to help implement them. I started by offering deep-dive strategy sessions, and these are still my favourite area of work.
I built and deeply studied marketing funnels, created online courses and began leading group strategy trainings. Corporate groups reached out for private courses and I found another niche to enjoy.
Then… Covid hit.
The digital marketing landscape has always been in a constant state of change. But some of those changes were definitely bigger than others.
Covid felt like the start of a heavier push toward digital adoption, and the evolution has kept accelerating. The introduction and speed of AI technology development has only increased the pressure.
Businesses large and small have found themselves needing to learn new skills, explore new channels, test ideas and workflows – fast.
Without clear direction, they have been contending quietly with:
- Trial and error
- Strategies that aren’t flexible enough to evolve (or no strategy at all)
- Figuring out how to create effective systems to organize and manage it all
